Applicant Right to Cancel

Information for all applicants

If you accept an offer of admission from Imperial College London, you will enter into a contract with the College. As part of this contract we are required to make you aware of the terms and conditions including the regulations that you are required to abide by and information on how to submit a complaint to the College. you have the right to cancel your place or change your reply without giving us notice or reason within the period of 14 days after the date of you accept your offer. You can do this by writing to the relevant admissions teams or by completing this Application Cancellation Form and sending this to the admissions team via post or email. You are not obligated to use the Application Cancellation Form if you do not wish to. Specific details for UCAS and Direct applicants are outlined below.

Information for UCAS applicants

If you accept an offer of admissions from Imperial College London via Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) you have the right to cancel your place or change your reply without giving us notice or reason within the period of 14 days after the date you accept your offer. In order to do this, you will need to contact UCAS to action the change. If you wish to withdraw your application, or change your reply status after 14 days, you will need to contact admissions at Imperial who will then instruct UCAS that they approve of your request to change. Please note, that where you wish to change replies to more than one university with which you hold/held an offer, you will need to contact all universities. All universities will need to contact UCAS to instruct them that they approve of your request, before UCAS will make any change.

Information for applicants who apply directly to Imperial

 If you accept an offer of admissions from Imperial College London you have the right to cancel your place without giving us reason within the period of 14 days after the date you accept your offer. In order to do this, you will need to contact admissions at Imperial who will then make the relevant amendment to your admission record. Once this has been actioned, it will be visible to you via your Imperial-Gateway applicant portal. If you are a postgraduate taught applicant who has paid a deposit within this 14 day period, you will also be entitled to a refund which you can request from tuition.fees@imperial.ac.uk. If you accept an offer of admission and wish to withdraw after the 14 days cooling-off period you may still do so by notifying admissions, but any deposit refund matters will be handled in accordance with the postgraduate tuition fee deposit policy.
