Setting up your workspace
When you're working from your desk on a regular basis, it's important that you find a good place to work. Find a quiet place with a good internet connection, access to power sources, and free from any unecessary distractions.
You should try to make sure that your workspace has sufficient light, ventilation and no trailing cords so that you are working in the most comfortable environment possible. It is also important to stay hydrated, have a supply of healthy snacks and ensure that you are taking regular breaks to maintain your focus. During your breaks, why not try some simple Workstation Exercises or connect with your friends and family online or on the phone. It is also worth familiarising yourself with all the relevant tools and websites which may be used as part of your teaching, and ensuring that any software needed to use these is up to date. Do not let a piece of software or hardware stop you from completing your work, remember that you can contact ICT if you need help. More information about some of the tools you may be using to collaborate with your peers and communicate with your teachers can be found .
