During your doctoral studies you will have many opportunities to engage with the local and wider community, through the multiple opportunities to offered by the School’s Outreach and the Societal Engagement teams.
You can work with school students and engage with the community to share your passion for your subject. This can include:
- Support hands-on activities for students aged 6–18 to capture their interest in studying science, medicine and engineering in the Wohl Reach Out Lab at South Kensington
- Inspire the next generation of innovators in the Dangoor Reach Out Makerspace in White City by supporting the Maker Challenge programmes
- volunteer as a tutor with The Access Project to support disadvantaged young people aged 14-18 with their academic studies.
- Expand your passion for science, technology, engineering and medicine becoming an Outreach STEM Leader
- Become a tutor or mentor through the Pimlico Connection, the mA*ths Online Programme, or the Homework Club in White City.
- Giving a talk about your research area in a Meet the Researcher webinar and in schools
- Contribute resources and case studies to the online STEM in Action topics.
and many other forms of societal engagement.
