Institute of Science Tokyo was established on October 1, 2024, following the merger between Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU) and Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech), with the mission of “Advancing science and human wellbeing to create value for and with society. Tokyo Tech and TMDU both have long histories as prestigious institutions of Higher Education in Japan.
Science Tokyo has six campuses, within the exciting city of Tokyo or just outside: Ookayama, Suzukakedai, Tamachi, Yushima and Surugadai and Kounadai.
Of the approximately 9000 students, half are in their bachelor's degree program while the other half are in master's and doctoral degree programs. International students number 2100.

- Contact International Student Exchange Division (inbound@jim.titech.ac.jp). The International Exchange Division will provide necessary information on exchange student acceptance procedures.
- Registration at Science Tokyo - the application to Science Tokyo must be completed by the 10th of the month that is three months prior to the desired start date e.g. for a start date of January 1, the application deadline is September 10. Please consider this when planning the dates of your stay.
