Woodward Buildings is one of our newest halls of residence, offering modern, spacious accommodation in cluster flats of 6-10 residents, as well as a range of purpose-built communal spaces. Rising to 19 storeys, Woodward forms part of the bustling student community in North Acton, which also includes Kemp Porter Buildings and a variety of other London university halls of residence.
Please note that some of the rooms and kitchens in Woodward Buildings overlook the Acton Cemetery.
A rolling schedule of lift repair work will be taking place in throughout the 2024/25 academic year. We shall keep residents informed when works are due to take place.
Woodward hall in more detail
Woodward Buildings offers self-catered study accommodation for 682 undergraduate students. Rent includes utility bills, internet access, basic contents insurance, maintenance, communal cleaning and a contribution to the halls activity fund.

All beds in Woodward are 4' x 6'6" (1.22m x 1.98m). Fire policies in Woodward and Kemp Porter are different from our other halls - you should review the fire safety information pages before arrival.

Woodward Buildings is located in North Acton, is part of a vibrant community of over 1,600 science and arts students and is just a few minutes away from Kemp Porter Buildings.
Due to its location, you will likely be required to take public transport in order to get to the South Kensington campus. Alternatively, you will also be able to cycle to South Kensington, which takes between 35-50 minutes.
Woodward benefits from excellent transport links: it's just a short two minute walk to North Acton tube station which will take you to the South Kensington campus in 40 minutes, Notting Hill (11 minutes) and Oxford Circus (19 minutes). Five major bus routes are within walking distance, including the 95 bus to Park Royal leisure park's cinema and bowling alley (11 minutes). Students can purchase a monthly travelcard, giving unlimited travel across central London (transport zones 1 & 2).
Tesco Express, Sainsburys Local, Costa Coffee, Chicken, and Indian takeaways are all within a two minute walk, with Lebanese and American cuisine just around the corner. For bigger shopping trips, the famous Westfield Shopping Centre is only a short distance away by tube and an Asda superstore is a 9 minute bus ride or 15 minute walk away.
