Departure day is Saturday 29 June You must be packed and out of your hall by 10.00 on Saturday 29 June. It will not be possible to stay in your room beyond this time.
If you need to extend your accommodation, we have rooms available for short-term and long-term summer stays at Kemp Porter, Evelyn Gardens and Xenia.
You are able to leave anytime before this date. Just make sure you follow all the departure procedures for your hall. You'll find details of these below.
The main things to remember are:
- Return all your keys / cards - including cupboard locks
- Take all belongings out of your room. Your room should be left as it was when you moved in. If there are items that you no longer want, look out for the reuse and recycling services that will be in your hall towards the end of term.
- Remove all rubbish. Don't leave any rubbish behind.

- Separate waste into black bags for general waste and green bags for mixed recycling. Extra bags can be collected from the reception desk. Leave all waste bags in your kitchen or your bedroom. Do not leave them in the corridor or lift lobby.
- Items that could be reused should be donated. (See below for more information.)
- Remove any pins from notice boards, items from walls and report any damages or defects. (Any stickers, pins, tape, hooks, or LED lights found on walls causing damage to walls will be noted and charges to your account applied.)
- Check your inventory and ensure all items are accounted for. (Study lamp, desk fan, laundry basket, waste bins, and mattress cover)
- Empty your wardrobe and storage area under your bed.
- Leave your lockable drawer unlocked.
- Do not leave any belongings/luggage in the corridors or lift lobby as they might be removed by mistake by other students or cleaning staff.
Your Kitchen
- All items will be disposed of from 10.00 AM on 29th June
- Empty kitchen cupboards fridge and freezer. Dispose of your food when you leave – especially if you are departing earlier.
- Leave cupboards unlocked
- Leave as tidy as possible
Keys
- Return all keys (mailbox, bedroom lockable drawer and kitchen cupboard) to concierge staff and remember to hand in any temporary access cards.
- Use the key bags provided.
- Do not pass your keys to anyone else for them to return, including wardens.
- You will be asked to sign a departure list.
- You’ll be charged £10 for each key/card that has not been returned.
Bikes
- Bicycles must be removed from the bicycle store by 10.00 AM on Saturday 29 June. Security will remove any bikes left after this time.
Post and insurance
- Ensure your mailbox is empty, parcels collected from the reception desk and set up a redirection service for your mail. Failure to change your address will result in any incoming mail being returned to sender and parcels being destroyed after one month.
- Insurance cover for your room's contents will expire upon at 10.00 AM on 29 June.
Cleaning and defects
- There will be no bedroom cleaning after Friday 19th June 2024.

Donate
Participate in the British Heart Foundation (BHF) Re-use scheme by donating items in good condition to the BHF Donation Point in the Common Room.
Accepted items for donation:
- Clean clothing, textiles, bags, and shoes (pairs tied together)

- Household items
- Crockery and kitchen equipment
- Small electrical items
Items not accepted for donation:
- Sharps (knives, fragile glassware)
- Food
Parking
There is no parking available on Saturday 29 June. You can find information regarding parking in the local area on Parkopedia.
If you are departing before Saturday 29 June, limited parking is available between 08.00 – 20.00, Mon-Fri for 1 hour only. If you exceed this time you will be asked to leave by security. Under no circumstances are cars allowed to park overnight. Security patrol the area regularly.

Residents transferring into Summer Accommodation
If you are transferring in to Summer Accomodation on Saturday 29 June, you will not be able to check in until 16.00. However, you will still need to vacate your hall at 10.00.
The rooms you will be moving into will have been occupied by previous residents and we need time to clean and prepare for your arrival.
Students currently living in halls who have booked summer accommodation will be contacted prior to 29 June 24 with specific check-in information and arrangements.
If you arrive early on Saturday 29 June 2024, you will have the option to leave luggage in a locked storage area until you check-in. Please be advised that items are stored at your own risk, and we would advise you not to leave valuables. Storage for summer accommodation will not be available after this date.
