My Research:  My research explores the role of specific brain cell types in Alzheimer’s disease, focusing on how genetic variations impact neurons and other cells in the brain. Using advanced single-cell sequencing techniques, I aim to better understand the molecular mechanisms involved in the disease.

Why I applied for this particular SPP role: I applied for the SPP role with GTA because I am passionate about both learning and teaching. Throughout my PhD, I have gained a deeper understanding of research methods and the importance of effective communication in education. Supporting fellow students in developing their teaching skills aligns with my commitment to nurturing a collaborative academic environment. This role gives me the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic learning atmosphere and help others become effective educators while advancing my own teaching experience.

Why I think professional development training is important: Professional development training is crucial for enhancing our skills and capabilities across various fields. These programs equip PhD students with essential tools for improving teaching methods, fostering engagement, and delivering constructive feedback. Additionally, they cultivate critical skills such as effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving, which are valuable in any professional context. By prioritising these opportunities, we not only enrich our personal growth but also enhance our ability to contribute meaningfully to our work environments and support the development of those around us.
