Through the research impact programme, students are provided with knowledge and strategies to create impact from their research to benefit society, the environment and the economy. The programme also provides students with the skills to design and evaluate effective public engagement activities, develop talks and activities for school aged audiences and enables them to register to be an Outreach Postgraduate Ambassador. We support open research through dedicated workshops and we will continue to accredit entrepreneurship training delivered by the Enterprise Lab, such as the WE Innovate and Idea Challenge.
These programmes deliver skills to enable staff and students to work inclusively and productively with each other.
Our suite of in-person professional development workshops which are available across the South Kensington and White City Campuses. In-person teaching at other College campuses will continue to be available to students and departments through our Cohort Booking process. Students can also access our growing number of online courses.

As the College’s community diversifies, with students attending from a range of lived experiences, backgrounds, cultures and beliefs, we recognise that some students will require additional support as they transition from Master’s level education to research. Aligning with the College’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy, we will with College across the College to support taught Master’s students transitioning to doctoral programmes. In addition, we will continue to work with colleagues in Outreach to understand and explore our role in providing wrap-around support for students from under-represented groups
Whilst our Professional Development Programme provides leadership development training, we recognise that this needs to be extended and expanded to support students to develop global leadership skills and an ability to lead and work in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
