Welcome to Woodward

Welcome to Woodward Buildings! Rising up to 18 storeys, we take pride in being one of the largest and newest Imperial’s Hall of residence. Each year, we become home to over 800 students (!) as they embark on their university life. Our Hall consists of 3 multi-storey residential blocks: B, C & D, all located in the close vicinity of the North Acton Tube station. We are closer to a tube station than any other Hall, so getting to and from central London has never been easier! Join us for the most enjoyable and rewarding student experience!

We have a dedicated team of Wardens, Sub-Wardens and Hall Seniors who are here to support you. In addition, we benefit from a 24/7 Concierge with on-site Security, as well as a Housekeeping team. With a great and vibrant community comes a great set of modern facilities such as a rooftop terrace, great London views, games room, study areas and music rooms. Join us for the most enjoyable and rewarding student experience!

    Abi Warden

    Location

    Woodward Buildings

    About Abi

Abi is one of the Wardens at Woodward, living with her partner Luke. She is a Research Associate in the Department of Materials, working on corrosion of metals. This mainly involves building corrosive atmosphere environments, breaking bits of metal and trying not to accidentally burn down or blow up the RSM. She has previously lived in Germany and Cyprus, and came to Imperial 10 years ago at the start of her PhD. You can usually find her either on or near a stage enjoying or performing musical theatre, baking, or spray painting furniture in an effort to upcycle because she saw a YouTube tutorial and it looked super easy. Abi can’t wait to meet everyone!

    Rein Assistant Warden

    Location

    Woodward Buildings

    About Rein

My research is at the interface between biostatistics, population genetics and healthy ageing. When not in halls, I can probably be found cooking, watching science videos, meeting students or supporting the team. I’ve have lived in North Acton student accommodation since I moved in for the first year of my undergraduate degree in 2016. It took me several years to discover amenities in the area and fully understand its character as a hub of makers, engineers and artists. I’m very excited to welcome you to the lively and warm community that is Woodward. Looking forward to meeting you all.

    Location

    Woodward Buildings

    About Maria

Hi and welcome! My name is Maria and I’m a second-year PhD student here at Imperial. I’m based in the Mathematics department, but my research is all about theoretical physics—specifically, I’m looking into hydrodynamic instabilities in Bose-Einstein Condensates. I was born and raised in Brazil, but spent several years in the U.S. completing my undergrad and master’s before moving to the UK to start my PhD. Outside of halls, I’m often out exploring London’s vibrant cultural scene—whether it’s attending live concerts and musicals or wandering through museums. I also love dancing, playing video games, and making friendship bracelets (which often match the theme of my next concert). I’m excited to meet you all and to help you settle in and make the most of your time here!

    About Michael

Hi, my name is Michael and I’m a 3rd Year PhD student in the Department of Immunology and Inflammation. My research focuses on thrombosis and haemostasis, particularly the development of a novel therapeutic for patients with thrombotic disorders. Outside of my research, some of my passions include strength training and sports (football, basketball and American football, to name a few)- I am an avid Arsenal fan. In addition to sports, I love travelling to explore the beautiful landscapes, cultures and cuisines the world has to offer. I also enjoy reading and attempting to learn new languages, admittedly I am not very good at it. I am an approachable person who’s always happy to listen and chat, whether it’s for advice, recommendations, or a good discussion about sports.

Will is a big fan of trying new foods, discovering different kinds of music and is always very happy to chat about anything! Will’s hobbies include running, cycling, swimming, roller skating and kayaking – you’ll normally find him going out for a run or cycle most mornings of the week, and he is always very happy to have company!
