Place: MRC LMS, Imperial Hammersmith Hospital Campus
The Genesis Research Trust has partnered with the MRC LMS and the Imperial College Institute for Reproduction & Developmental Biology for its second symposium on stem-cell based models. This meeting aims to unite and grow the community working with in vitro models of early development and reproductive biology. It will provide a platform for current and future leaders from across the world to share ideas and discuss key topics for future research.
PAST EVENTS
- 11th International Meeting of the Stem Cell Network NRW
Date: 16th-17th of May
Place: Aachen, Germany
The meeting is one of the largest congresses in this field of research in Europe. Congress chairman Professor Oliver Brüstle of Bonn University/ University Hospital Bonn is looking forward to welcoming inspiring international stem cell experts, basic and clinical researchers as well as young talents.
The highlights include:

Tri-Network symposium
Date: 7th of July
Place: South Kensington Campus, Imperial College
The Vascular Science, Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine and Organ-on-a-chip Networks are organizing an afternoon symposium on the 7th of July 2023 from 2-6pm in SAF, South Kensington. By discussing overlapping topics involving vascular biology, regenerative medicine, stem cell biology and organoids we aim to enable the development of transformative ideas and interdisciplinary collaborations. There will be three talks from exciting speakers including Dr Graeme Birdsey and Dr Jeniffer Fratollin (Imperial College London) and the international guest speaker Prof David Smadja (University of Paris). All participants will be able to further discuss these topics in 3 breakout sessions.
There is also a student challenge. Postgraduate students (pre-selected into teams) will attend one of the breakout sessions and work closely to create a powerpoint presentation summarising the discussions of each break-out session. Prizes will be awarded to the best presentation!
You are welcome to attend without taking part in the challenge too, the coffee break will be a great opportunity to network!
- ISEH 2023 "International Society for Experimental Hematopoiesis"
Date: 17th-20th of August 2023
Place: NYC, USA
Through a combination of invited keynote speakers and oral presentations, the ISEH meeting features educational sessions on basic, translational and clinical hematology featuring internationally-renowned scientists as well as rising young investigators. The ISEH Annual Scientific Meeting continues to be a one-of-a-kind venue offering top science from around the world and unique networking opportunities for scientists at every career stage.
6th LSCN Annual symposium
Date: 25th of April 2023
Place: The Francis Crick Institute, London, UK
A very friendly symposium with a great diversity of talks, it's a great opportunity to meet the London stem cell community! Prof Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz (The University of Cambridge & California Institute of Technology) will be our Keynote Speaker and Dr. Rocio Sancho (King's College London) will be giving the LSCN Flagship Lecture.

Chisartscience
Illuminations is a collaborative Science-Art initiative between artists from Chisenhale Art Studios, and scientists from the Centre for Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine at King’s College London and the Imperial College Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine Network. Artists and scientists have paired up over “speed dating” sessions and are working together to explore creative methods by which current stem cell research can engage the public. The pairings have been working together to create a tour of public facing multi-media exhibitions for October 2020.
Works in progress can be seen on the project dedicated blog . Some new online initiatives are also currently in the works to connect with people at home during lockdown. Watch this space!
