Further equipment sources

The following are web sites that the Occupational Health Service periodically uses to source equipment. They are not the only sources for computer equipment but are a good starting point. Some suppliers/manufacturers will allow prospective buyers to trial equipment so it is worth inquiring about this. 

AbilityNet

AbilityNet has enabled a comprehensive range of services on the use of information technology to be offered, to people with all types of disabling conditions, and also to care and support professionals, employers and statutory bodies. This is unique in the UK, and probably in the world. AbilityNet provides free information and advice, individual assessment of technology needs, the supply of assistive technology with free support, a programme of awareness education, and consultancy for employers on system and workstation adaptations.

Putnams 

Producers of spine and lower back supports which encouraging correct posture. These are designed to hold lateral muscles, giving double the support of any ordinary lumbar cushion. Putnams is available on the College Suppliers list.

'Posturite Ltd' is the College preferred supplier of ergonomic equipment, as such they give a small (10%) discount on all equipment ordered. However they will not always be the cheapest supplier.
