Background
This workshop was developed by the Attributes and Aspirations Short Course team and the methods and ideas explored have all been implemented within the course and are an integral part of the way the team works. The rationale behind this workshop is to look at designing education and student services that understands the diversity of the audience and designs content to be inclusive of anyone who may access it. We will offer practical solutions and participants will leave with templates to help them implement the ideas discussed and will benefit from discussion and ideas provided by the rest of the group.
Digital personas are archetypal individuals that are designed to give their authors better insight into the end users of their ‘product’. This workshop will look at how to develop these personas for an educational context and how to use them within a curriculum to increase diversity and inclusivity. While these personas are digital, they can be used within any teaching context be it online, blended, or face-to-face.
The work we have done on creating and embedding personas was shortlisted for the ALT Learning Technologist of the Year Award.
