Terms and Conditions

Who is eligible to attend EDU workshops?

Workshops are available for staff of Imperial College London and generally for those who teach Imperial College students. Students are not eligible to attend EDU workshops with the exception of STAR workshops, which are available to PhD students.

Workshops are free of charge for Imperial College staff and those teaching/involved in teaching Imperial College students.

Attendance fees

Workshops are free of charge for Imperial College staff and NHS staff teaching Imperial College students. We can in some cases accept external bookings, subject to availability. However, places will always be prioritised for College employees and those teaching Imperial College students.

If you are not a College employee or involved in teaching Imperial College students, the following attendance fees will apply:

  • £150.00 for a half-day workshop
  • £250.00 for a one-day workshop
  • £450.00 for a two-day workshop

For further enquiries, please email edudevcourses@imperial.ac.uk.

Confirmation of booking and joining instructions

You will receive a confirmation of your booking by email within two working days of your booking request being received.

Joining instructions will be sent by email, normally two weeks prior to the workshop date, and will include venue and workshop details. Depending on the workshop, you may also be sent a pre-workshop task approximately one week ahead of the session.

Both emails will be sent from imperialtraining@imperial.ac.uk. This is a notification-only email address that cannot accept incoming messages.

If you have any questions regarding your booking, please email edudevcourses@imperial.ac.uk.

I need to cancel my place, is there a charge?

EDU workshops are heavily subscribed and we often work with waiting lists. Before you book onto a workshop, please ensure as far as possible that you will be able to attend on the date in question. We accept and allow for extenuating circumstances; however, we ask that you make every effort to attend. If for whatever reason it becomes impossible for you to do so, we request that you get in touch with us as soon as possible. It is your responsibility as a workshop participant to sign the attendance sheet for any workshop you attend in order for the EDU to keep accurate records of attendance.

If you wish to cancel your booking, please contact us (edudevcourses@imperial.ac.uk +44 (0)20 7594 8691/8781/8787) as soon as possible so that your place can be offered to those on the waiting list.

Cancellations received less than five working days prior to the workshop date will be subject to a charge.

Cancellation charges will be applied as follows:

  • Cancellation notice received more than five working days prior to the workshop date - no charge.
  • Absence on the day of the workshop or cancellation notice received less than five working days prior to the workshop date - £100.00 per day, i.e. £100.00 for a part or whole day of a workshop. For example, the charge for a workshop which runs for 1.5 days would be £200.00, irrespective of the length of the workshop on each day.

NB Cancellation terms and charges do not apply to EDU events or network meetings.

Data Protection

Participants’ names and departments/divisions/faculties will be available to other attendees on the same workshop.

Participants' data are stored in a database for the purpose of recording attendance at workshops, providing statistical information and maintaining individuals and faculty/departmental/divisional training records. Individual training records will be made available to managers in the individual's faculty/department/division, staff with responsibility for staff development/HR (e.g. DAs and Safety Officers) and appropriate administrative divisions.

If you have any queries in relation to data protection, please contact the EDU by email.
