Tuesday 20 April 2010
Sir Alexander Fleming Building
South Kensington campus
Education Day 2010 was attended by almost 300 members of staff from across all areas of the College. The day focused on the role of teaching in the College and provided a forum for sharing good practice across departments and faculties. Twin strands of e-learning and engagement offered staff the opportunity to drop-in to workshops to learn about aspects of e-learning including use of clickers, plagiarism detection and peer assessment tools.
External speakers included Professor Diana Laurillard, Chair of Learning with Digital Technologies, Institute of Education, Mr Anthony McClaran, Chief Executive of the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and Dr Julie Varley, Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre, Reading.
The day concluded with the presentation by the Rector of the College awards for excellence in teaching, pastoral care and research supervision, and was deemed a great success by all.
