A child inserts a block of Duplo into a box at Early Years

What should I expect?

If you'd like to know more about our centre before you apply, you're more than welcome to book a tour by contacting the nursery admin team and we'll set up a time for you. All tours take place at 10.00 on Mondays to Fridays. Alternatively, you can view our virtual tour or learn more about our facilities and curriculum

Once you're ready, you can find our application form in the box above. After completion you will be directed to our e-store to pay a registration fee - this will secure your child’s place on our waiting list.

Before you submit, we recommend you read the information below, as well as information about our Fees.

When will I hear back?

Once your form is submitted and your registration fee processed, you will be added to our waiting list. Waiting lists can vary greatly month-to-month based on the children we currently have enrolled and the age group you're applying for. On average, there is a wait time of approximately 12-16 months for children under 2, and up to 12 months for children between 2-3 years. For children that are 3 and above, we recommend you contact us first to find out about availability.

When a place becomes available, we will reach out to you with further information and updated terms & conditions.

Key information

Opening hours and closures

We are open all year round, from Monday to Friday from 8.45 to 17.15, except closure days.

We close during Christmas and Easter in line with College closures. There are 5 additional days added to the College closures per year, divided between Easter and Christmas.

We also close for 2 days each year to accommodate staff training. This is an opportunity for our team to train together to update and improve their knowledge and enable them to offer a consistently high standard of childcare as required by Ofsted.

You'll be given advance notification of all closure dates. Dates are also published on our home page.

Eligibility

Any staff member or student at Imperial is entitled to apply for a place for their child with us. We do occasionally accept a very small number of families that work and live in the local area.

Settling in

A settling in period prior to your child’s official start date is essential. This usually takes place the week before, or the week of, your child’s start date. The settling in process consists of one Microsoft Teams meeting with your child’s key worker and two in-person day visits to Early Years with your child (free of charge). The in-person visit is with one parent for approximately 90 mins from 09.30 to 11.00.

This helps your child become acquainted with our space, our team, and increase their comfort with being in an environment outside of their home.
