Advanced modelling methodologies are deployed to understand how currents and eddies in the ocean influence transport and deposition of plastics across the world regions of the ocean. This enables the study of strategies and technologies to monitor the leakage, degradation and deposition patterns. Interdisciplinary work allows the design of techniques, devices and policies to undertake remediation in optimised locations and scales. This work informs conservation, pollution regulation and waste remediation policy design.
