The next PGT virtual Open Day will take place on Wednesday 18 December 2024 at 10.00.
You can register to attend for the PGT virtual Open Day at PGT Open Day.
The Department of Physics has a vibrant taught graduate portfolio offering eight masters programmes spanning a wide range of topics. Approximately 200 masters students join us each year from around the world, with backgrounds in physics, mathematics, engineering and the other physical sciences.
Details of the PGT department virtual open day which took place last year can be seen in the video below which explores what the Department of Physics has to offer. It was a chance to explore programme content, meet course leaders and have questions answered.
More information about the internal PGT Open Day which took place within the Department of Physics in December 2023 Day can be seen in these presentation slides: PGT Open Day December 2023.
Virtual PGT Departmental open day - 18 December 2024 at 10.00
The Department is offering the following programmes for 2024/2025 entry:
- MSc Physics
- MSc Physics with Extended Research (2 year)
- MSc Physics with Quantum Dynamics
- MSc Quantum Fields and Fundamental Forces
- MSc Security and Resilience: Science and Technology
- MSc and MRes in Optics and Photonics
- MRes Machine Learning and Big Data
- MRes Soft Electronic Materials
Through a combination of lectures, practical laboratories and individual research projects, students are bought to the cutting edge of research. Specialisms include cosmology, physics of light and materials, to the physics of the quantum realm, and down to the tiniest scales of particle physics.
Our programmes span all the way from blue skies research areas through to those with very direct application in industry, computing and the resilience of society.
The Virtual Open Day gave students the chance to:
- learn more about the department, our master's programmes and their entry requirements;
- meet our programme directors;
- chat to teaching and support staff; and
- ask questions live.
Find out more about all the programmes by visiting Imperial.
