Dietary pathways analyses for policymakers in East Africa
The Dietary Pathways branch of our research focuses on studying and analysing the relevance of protective foods in preventing non-communicable diseases and maintaining health throughout the course of the life span.
A key aspect of the work is to facilitate the development of research that can be translated into policy.
With this aim in mind, Professor Sir Gordon Conway and Samrat Singh have written a series of reports that aim to answer some of the most pressing questions about protective diets and their sustainability:
- What are the costs of healthy and unhealthy dietary patterns?
- What are protective diets?
- What are the nutritional building blocks of protective diets?
- How can we present a clear case for policymakers to enable the transition from refined to whole food products?
- What is the impact of protective diets on children's development?
- How can protective diets be implemented in schools?
