Hi world, I am Yurong Yu, a PhD student at Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London. My PhD focuses on exploring the social & conservation nexus, which helps achieve biodiversity conservation. I have a very internationalised background, that I have been to over fifty countries, and studied in three for a long time.

My research interests run between conservation science and environmental policy. Currently, I set my research lens at conservation practice in Hainan, China, where the critically endangered Hainan Gibbons habituate. I have carried out a quite long fieldwork project in Hainan in 2021, working with local experts and community to develop a comprehensive biodiversity impact assessment system.
