Overview
The Bridges Programme is designed to support undergraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds and identities within the Faculty of Natural Sciences in their transition from school into University and strengthen the networks of students and staff across all years.
Our goal is to ensure that all students feel a strong sense of belonging and have the resources they need to thrive both academically and socially during their time at Imperial.
Peer Guide Scheme
Throughout the year, students registered to Bridges can select a peer guide from a pool of upper year students who have navigated similar challenges. The peer guides are available to share their experiences and insights to help students navigate various aspects of university life, such as maintaining a work/life balance, applying to internships, and helping acclimatize to university life ensuring that students feel welcomed and valued within our community.
Events and Workshops
Networking events and academic skills workshops are hosted throughout the academic year. These are designed to help students develop and enhance their academic skills, build networks and connect with other students from similar backgrounds.
Events include:
- Q&As with upper year students, giving advice from their own academic journeys, including study techniques, exam tips and internship application advice.
- Networking events to meet your peers
- Careers workshops
- Academic and study skills workshops
