Xiaoye Xia
Hello, my name is Xiaoye Xia, or Sean, and I come from China. I majored in chemistry both at the University of Sheffield and Nanjing Tech University during my undergraduate studies. Areas such as soil remediation and carbon sequestration that can limit and remedy some of the damage which has been inflicted on the environment is of particular interest to me. I chose this course to complement my background in chemistry, and hopefully go on to make an impact through multi-disciplinary research between these specialities. Upon completing my Master’s studies, I would like to pursue doctoral research that combines the fields of chemistry and molecular engineering, and bring the applications of these fields to industry.
Outside of study, I am also a person with many hobbies. Listening to music, reading books, doing sports like table tennis and basketball, enrich my spare time, and improved my physical and spiritual qualities. As a cadre of the student union at Nanjing Tech University, I launched and took part in several volunteer activities such as old clothes donation to the impoverished areas, organization and publicity of the school sports meeting, and management of side safety medical personnel during it. And these have become my precious life experiences.
