Chu Xiao
My name is Chu Xiao, from China. Before joining the MRes in Molecular Engineering, I graduated from the University of Sheffield with Bsc Material Physics. The reason why I chose this MRes is that it provides me with an opportunity to combine what I learned to solve practical problems in industry with the three-month industrial placement. In the future, my preference is to seek a PhD position, but I’ll also consider working in industry if I am really interested in that job.
I am interested in music. One of my hobbies is collecting different kinds of CDs (Rock’n Roll, Jazz, folks, hip-hop) and I played the drums for 4 years. Sports is also important to me, maybe we can talk about the matches of the Premier League and have some beer in our spare time.
