Toheeb sodiq

As a Data Scientist at Imperial Clinical Analytics, Research and Evaluation (iCARE) team, I develop and implement data-driven solutions to enhance healthcare delivery. My current focus is building a clinical decision support tool that optimizes nurse staffing levels and skill mix by analysing patient acuity. This work aims to improve patient care by ensuring the right resources are available at the right time.

My journey at iCARE began with the HDR UK Black Internship Programme, where I contributed to a project aimed at preventing in-hospital harm to people with diabetes through a data-driven virtual ward round intervention. My role involved exploratory data analysis of electronic health records to identify at-risk individuals. This experience solidified my interest in leveraging data to improve patient outcomes.

I hold a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science from the University of Hull. My dissertation analysed the impact of dimensionality reduction techniques on machine learning algorithms for diabetes prediction. Prior to transitioning into healthcare analytics, I worked as an Automation Solution Architect, driving digital transformation initiatives across financial institutions. This background provided me with a foundation in data analysis, process optimization, project management, and technology implementation.
