The inaugural Inspire GP event Celebrating Primary Care took place on Wednesday 8 November 2023 at 58 Prince's Gate.
We celebrated the achievements of our Undergraduate medical students who were nominated by GP tutors for making exceptional contributions or completing work that has been highly commended in the field of primary care.
We were delighted to welcome Dr Chaand Nagpaul CBE, GP Partner and former Chair of the British Medical Association to speak at the event. Dr Nagpaul shared his journey into General Practice, his roles representing and supporting GPs through his entire career, his advocacy of racial equality in medicine, and his experiences of leadership of the GP profession through the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dr Lisa-Jayne Edwards and Dr Gautham Benoy also shared stories of their journeys in General Practice, their transformative experiences on their primary care placements changed the course of their medical careers.
