Prevention and primary care in early years

Universal coverage and access to preventive primary care for children from birth is the cornerstone of strong health systems globally. This theme examines the impact of preventive primary care and action on the social determinants on child health from preconception, through pregnancy, birth and early years across life course. We have worked with community partners during the covid 19 pandemic to increase uptake of routine and covid vaccination in under vaccinated groups, highlighted inequalities in access to essential primary care including contraception, medicines for chronic conditions such as asthma and epilepsy
