I am the Deputy School Manager at the School of Public Health. This is a varied role where I support the School Manager in the operational management of the School. This involves developing policy and strategy, managing and coordinating administrative support for the School’s Athena SWAN award and governance. I represent the School at Faculty and College committees. I am also the School’s Safety Officer, a first aider and a mental health first aider.
All the NHS staff who have worked tirelessly in this pandemic inspire me, particularly my brother who also homeschooled two children under 7 years. He has juggled working, teaching and family life and always has time for a joke or two.
Cooking which is a real surprise to me and those that know me! I’ve always thought of cooking as a chore and something that I have to do as I can’t survive on takeaways all the time. However I have really enjoyed cooking in lockdown and have found it a nice way to wind down after a busy day and separate myself from work as there is no commute home. It’s been nice to try different dishes and feel more confident at experimenting.
