I am a researcher in the economics of infectious diseases – I love the days I get to do only research. In my role as deputy director of J-IDEA, I also spend quite a lot of my time with administrative tasks, public relations and communications activities.
My career path was certainly not a straight line, and I am proud that despite professional and personal setbacks, cul-de-sacs and detours I now work for one of the best universities in the world.
Without any doubt my students and postdoc inspire me! It is truly inspiring to witness junior researchers grow in their role, develop their own ideas, and then find new directions for our field.
One of my most surprising favourite lockdown activities is cycling in Richmond Park clad in lycra! Thankfully no one recognizes me.
