Behind the Scenes at The Heart and Lung Repair Shop
Believe it or not, this is what our empty shop looked like when we began the project (it had last been used as an Alice in Wonderland themed pop-up cinema).
It took a lot of hard work to transform our retail unit into The Heart and Lung Repair Shop! Here are Chris, Will and Annie pulling staples out of the wall panels, after we pulled off all the green felt.
The first big step was installing the vinyl signage onto the shop front (which was a tricky task, but Chris and Annie managed eventually). As soon as the signage was up we started to get curious looks from people passing by.
A flyer stand helped to spread the word about the shop.
Here is Chris, chief shop designer and builder, admiring his pegboard handiwork.
Shop Assistants Will and Janine painting shelves in the back room.
Annie, who designed all the labeling for the shop products, branding the packaging.
Chris’ assistant, Lee, painting the blackboard.
Freshly painted chairs, just waiting for an audience to sit on them.
Shop Assistants Ros and Will doing some very impressive last minute floor cleaning.
