Reproductive and Developmental Biology - Idoia Elorza Ridaura (20/21)
What did you most enjoy about your course?
I find Reproductive and Developmental Biology fascinating, so I honestly loved learning about it! My favourite component of the course was the independent research project we conducted in the second half of the year, where I investigated two pregnancy complications. Not only was the topic extremely interesting, but I also had amazing supervisors, who were incredibly kind and helpful.
What did you most appreciate about the Faculty/College?
I really loved all the staff we met during the MSc. I had excellent teachers, tutors, and supervisors, whose passion for research was inspiring. Though we attended most of our classes from home due to COVID, they were very supportive throughout the course and made great efforts to improve our experience.
How did it feel to receive the Dean's Prize?
I was very pleasantly surprised, to say the least! It was nice to see that all the hard work had been recognised.
What are you doing now/What do you plan on doing after graduation?
I am currently working in the financial department of an IVF clinic, and am planning on going back to the lab at Imperial College in the next few months, to continue the research project I carried out during the MSc. I also hope to start a PhD next year, fingers crossed!
