BD FACS Aria-III

The Aria-III is a digital system with fixed optical alignment. The facility Aria-III is equipped with a Blue 488 nm, Yellow-Green 561 nm, Red 633 nm and Violet 405 nm laser, capable of measuring up to 12 parameters in addition to forward and side scatter properties (FSC and SSC). A more detailed optical configuration including the fluorochrome, dichroic mirrors and bandpass filters can be found below.
The Aria-III has three nozzle sizes: 70 µm, 85 µm and 100 µm and is capable of sorting cells ranging from 5 to 20 µm in size at a flow rate of 5,000 to 15,000 cells per second.

The sorter offers four- or two-way cell sorting in a variety of tubes (0.2 ml, 0.5 ml, 5 ml and 15 ml) and single cell sorting in multi-well tissue culture or micro plates (for example 96 and 384-well) using an Automated Cell Deposition Unit (ACDU).

The instrument is equipped with a recirculating water bath that provides the optimum temperature to the sorted cells during the entire sort. The sample temperature option allows the operator to control the temperature inside the sample injection chamber.
