What are the entry requirements?
Applicants will need (or expect to gain) grade 9–6 (A*–B) at GCSE in Maths and Science and grade 9–4 (A*–C) in English. No prior work experience is required.
Important: we are looking for people who are passionate about making; to be considered for interview, you must tell us in your application about things you have made, which could include projects at home, work or school. Have you made something you are proud of? Did you undertake a repair? Is your hobby tinkering or doing creative crafts? Remember to tell us about it in your application form!
Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS)
With effect from 21 May 2021, any individual who will be undertaking research activities, at PhD level or above, in one of the Academic Subjects/Fields of Research relevant to ATAS will be required to obtain a free of charge ATAS certificate before they can apply for a visa to work in the UK. This will include research, academic, engineering and technician staff applying for Skilled Worker visas. Some exemptions apply.
