Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Health Leadership
The NHS Digital Academy was commissioned following a 2017 Secretary of State commitment and the Wachter Review, 'Making IT Work: Harnessing the Power of Health Information Technology to Improve Care in England'. Its recommendations outline the need to develop and invest in the capability and capacity of digital change leaders.
In its first iteration, the NHS Digital Academy trained more than 300 health and care professionals on its flagship Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Digital Health Leadership programme.
Now in its sixth year of delivering the PGDip in Digital Health Leadership programme, we have reviewed the curriculum to broaden its appeal to attract diverse talent from across health and care professions. Complementing the largely online delivery, the Leadership Forums aim to increase the emphasis on self-awareness and leadership development for participants to solidify their leadership styles and strategies, and provide opportunities to consider equality, diversity and inclusion.
Commissioned by NHS England, the Digital Health Leadership programme is delivered by a partnership of Imperial College London’s Institute of Global Health Innovation, HDR UK and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
Upon successful completion of the Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Health Leadership, students can self-fund a one-year Dissertation module leading to the qualification an MSc in Digital Health Leadership.
