Summary
Dr. Gustavo Tontini will walk us through the editorial process of a research manuscript at Nature Communications, from submission to publication, providing editorial tips and best practices to improve the chances of a manuscript to survive the peer-review process. The talk will also briefly introduce the structure of the Nature Portfolio, Nature Communications, and the growing editorial interest of the portfolio in areas of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Dr. Gustavo Tontini graduated in physics and obtained a PhD in materials science and engineering from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina in Brazil. He joined as an Associate Editor at Nature Communications in June 2021 handling manuscripts on materials engineering, applied materials, and devices, before becoming Chief Editor for the journal’s Engineering and Astronomy team.
