Join quantum researchers from across Imperial College London to learn about the latest advances in quantum engineering, science and technology and how they are being used to improve our lives.
This celebration, in collaboration with the London Centre for Nanotechnology, is part of the leadup to Quantum Day 2024 on Sunday 14 April, the worldwide celebration of quantum science. This date was selected for Quantum Day because 4.14 are the rounded first digits of Planck’s constant: 4.1356677×10-15 eV⋅s , a product of energy and time that is the fundamental constant governing quantum physics.
Event timings:
16.00-20.00 Exhibition with quantum technology demonstrations, and live development of the Quantum Dictionary
17.00-18.00 Talks from our invited speakers with Q&A
18.30-19.00 Quantum meditation and soundbath
Our speakers are:
- James Millen, experimental quantum scientist and Director of King’s Quantum at King’s College London, and also Lecturer in Quantum Theory to the Public at the Royal Institution.
- Daisy Shearer, Lead for Quantum Education and Outreach at the National Quantum Computing Centre.
- Tom Newby, Head of the UK Office for Quantum Technologies, Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.
