Italian Conversation (at lunchtime)
Tuesdays 13:00 - 14:00

Starts 15 October 2024
20 weeks | October - March
Fees from £144
Tutor: Adriana Lepori
Classroom course at South Kensington

Why not join a friendly group of people interested in practising their Italian by talking about issues of current affairs?

At these lunchtime sessions we will read and discuss articles, and interpret novels and song lyrics with a view to improving our fluency in Italian and grammar. The course will also help you improving confidence in your speaking, developing more accuracy and fluency, and it will give you an opportunity to discuss a variety of topics in Italian using a broader vocabulary.

The main focus of this course is to improve speaking and listening skills, however we will focus also on reading and writing. You will improve your grammatical knowledge and your ability to understand more complex and abstract reading.

Previous experience

This course is aimed at students who have completed our Italian 2 (Pre-Intermediate) or Italian 3 (Intermediate) evening course or have studied the language for about two to three years recently or have an equivalent level of proficiency. If you have any questions as to whether this course is suitable for you, please contact us.

Course Information

Your Tutor

Adriana M. Lepori graduated with a First Degree BA in Italian Literature and Philosophy from the University Of Messina, Italy. She then went on to gain an MA in Contemporary History at Birkbeck, University of London.

Adriana has been teaching Italian for over thirty-five years, first at the Polytechnic of Central London (now University of Westminster) and then, for the past twenty-two years, at Imperial College, London.

She teaches using audio/visual resources and interactive activities, along with her own original teaching materials. Her knowledge of the Italian language, history and traditions make her lessons engaging and informative.

Adriana has an abundance of stories, tales from the past and anecdotes which contribute to a deeper understanding of her charming country. Adriana’s research interests include Italian contemporary culture and history.
