I have worked in research on carbon capture and storage (CCS) for almost 13 years, starting my research journey as a chemical engineer at CSIRO in Melbourne, Australia. It is highly rewarding to see so much progress, with technologies that were lab scale over a decade ago, now reaching demo and commercial scale. As engineering is currently a STEM area with one of the lowest proportion of females, I have been working with UKRI colleagues on the Industrial Decarbonisation Challenge to engage with companies to improve EDI in the industrial sector.
