Materials Science and Engineering are all around us.
It can help us find new ways to combat diseases, develop quantum systems and discover new materials for a sustainable future.
Did you know that our researchers investigate materials that can withstand extreme heat, corrosion and pressures? Discovering materials that can withstand these extreme conditions can help us improve aerospace, develop nuclear technologies and enhance the longevity of everyday structures. But we don't stop there; we're also investigating materials for Quantum sensors, versatile wearable devices and rechargeable car batteries.
We hope to inspire the next generation of Materials Scientists and Engineers, who will support us in developing a better future. Our outreach team is here to help you learn more and provide exciting learning and teaching resources. You can also meet us at the Great Exhibition Road Festival and Summer Schools.
Please get in touch if you have any questions about our outreach activities - our Outreach lead is Dr Eleonora D'Elia. If you have a scientific question about Materials Science and Engineering, you can also ask an academic, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible!
