Awards will be based on academic excellence and relevant experience. Hardship will be considered as a criterion, if measurable.

Equinor Civil and Environmental Engineering Fluid Mechanics MSc Scholarship

Fluid Mechanics Cluster
Equinor Bursaries are awarded to successful applicants to the Civil and Environmental Engineering Fluid Mechanics Cluster MSc Programme in Engineering Fluid Mechanics for the Offshore, Coastal and Built Environments, based on excellent academic and professional records, supported by relevant references and a strong personal statement.

Geotechnics MSc Industrial Bursaries

Geotechnics cluster
A consortium of Geotechnical companies
Bursaries are awarded to successful applicants to the Geotechnics Cluster MSc courses based on excellent academic and professional records, supported by relevant references and a strong personal statement. Priority is given to UK-Based applicants but overseas candidates are also considered.

Number of awards: 5-10

Rees Jeffreys Road Fund Bursaries

Transport cluster
Rees Jeffreys Road Fund
Bursaries are awarded to students who obtained a first degree of at least 2.1 standard or equivalent and who wish to undertake a masters programme directly related to highways and transportation, and demonstrate a commitment to pursuing a career in the UK transport sector post-graduation. Apply through the Department.

The Aziz Foundation / Imperial College Hydrology Scholarship Aziz Foundation
The Aziz Foundation provides a unique opportunity for an exceptional Muslim student active in British Muslim communities to study hydrology. The scholarship will cover the full home tuition fee. For further details see Aziz Foundation. This is only open to applicants on the MSc hydrology and water resources management.

Brian Large Bursary
Transport cluster
Brian Large Bursary Fund
Bursaries are awarded to full-time candidates who have obtained a first degree of normally at least 2.1 standard or equivalent, applying to study the MSc in Transport and are required to have long term UK residential rights and intentions, and to demonstrate a commitment to a career in transport within the UK. Apply through the Department.

SUT's Educational Support Fund SUT's Educational Support Fund
The Society for Underwater Technology’s Educational Support Fund offers sponsorship awards to high calibre undergraduate and postgraduate students, either starting or continuing a degree which embraces at least one relevant component area of marine science, underwater technology or offshore engineering. The postgraduate award is only available to students taking one year taught MSc courses.

Although these are the only sources of funding available within the Department, there are many other foundations and organisations who can help with and advise on funding, including the British Council, the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Society for Underwater Technology (SUT)*. Enquiries should be directed to the relevant organisation.

*SUT are happy to consider applicants from the following programmes for funding: Engineering Fluid Mechanics for the Offshore, Coastal and Built Environments; Environmental Engineering; Hydrology and Water Resources Management; Soil Mechanics; Soil Mechanics & Engineering Geology; Soil Mechanics & Engineering Seismology; Soil Mechanics & Environmental Geotechnics.
