About the Library
The Library is located in the Skempton Building, room 402, and houses a specialist collection covering Geotechnics / Soil Mechanics, Transport, Structural Engineering, Concrete Structures, Earthquake Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Offshore Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and more.
The Library is supported by a team of GTA's who are happy to help students with issues such as finding information, books and journal articles; using e-resources such as bibliographic databases; referencing accurately and using reference management software.

The library's collections may be used by all Imperial College members. The library space is intended for use by members of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Library Search for the Civil & Environmental Engineering Library
Once you have found a book you are looking for using Library Search, make a note of its classmark (e.g. 624 CIV) and then consult the Library Shelving Plan.
Print journals are shelved in alphabetical order in our Journal Stacks.
If you are unsure about how to locate books/journals please ask for assistance.
If the library doesn't have what you're looking for, contact the Librarian to recommend that it is acquired. A Document Delivery service is also available.
