To support the world-leading computational research and teaching undertaken in the department, we provide a range of computer facilities to complement those provided centrally by the College.
For teaching there are 5 shared-use computer rooms hosting Windows PCs. A departmentally managed Linux environment is available on three high-performance multi-user systems for computing-related courses, accessible from any computer via a remote desktop connection.
To support research, the Linux systems also include specialist and state-of-the-art computer hardware, such as cutting-edge GPUs and can use our visualisation wall to support their research. Researchers also have access to extensive parallel compute through the College's high-performance computing service.
