We have three 3-5 rooms at Early Years for children aged between 3 and 5 years, with two rooms for up to 24 children and one of 16 children. With the prospect of attending school around the corner, these rooms are designed and set up with slightly more formal learning in mind. Activities begin to become more structured at certain times of the day.
The ‘older’ children continue gaining skills and staff begin preparing the children for their future at primary school. Children’s learning becomes more structured and involves areas such as Mathematics, Language and Literacy, Understanding the World, writing. Rooms are set up in different areas, providing opportunities for each child to choose the activity of their choice.
