Welcome to DIGIBAT
DIGIBAT is a shared-use facility dedicated to accelerating energy-related research through state-of-the-art automated technologies. Our mission is to support academic and industrial researchers in the discovery and optimization of sustainable and high-performance batteries, fuels, and other energy solutions.
We welcome access from both internal researchers at Imperial College London and external collaborators from academic institutions and industry. Access fees apply to all users, and further information is available under the following sections:

Our internal users are strongly encouraged to join the DIGIBAT Teams group (exclusive to Imperial College London users) to receive the latest updates on equipment and facilities.
To begin your research with DIGIBAT:
- Contact digibat@imperial.ac.uk to schedule an initial meeting to align our capabilities with your research goals.
- Complete the Project Proposal Form with sufficient detail regarding your experiment plan.
- Send the proposal form to digibat@imperial.ac.uk, the equipment will be booked for your experiment.
- Fill out a Risk Assessment using our provided template and sign off by DIGIBAT before starting your experiment.
Researchers from other academic institutions are welcome to collaborate with DIGIBAT. To get started:
1. Please email digibat@imperial.ac.uk with details of your proposed research, funding sources (current or planned), and anticipated timelines.
2. The DIGIBAT team will work with you to develop your proposed experiments, provide costings based on your funding source, and offer letters of support if needed.
DIGIBAT supports industrial and commercial research through several access models:
- Facility Access: Your researchers can use DIGIBAT’s advanced equipment and expertise to conduct experiments independently.
- Contract Research: The DIGIBAT team can run experiments on your behalf.
- Beta Testing & Case Studies: Collaborate with us to test and showcase relevant laboratory equipment.
For commercial research inquiries:
- Contact digibat@imperial.ac.uk to discuss the technical requirements of your project.
- The DIGIBAT team will work with you and Imperial Consultants to prepare a quotation and contract tailored to your needs.
