Innovation in AI and Data
The convergence of artificial intelligence, robotics, and big data is heralding what many call a new industrial revolution. Our school is advancing our understanding of how AI can be designed, commercialised and regulated to benefit individuals, communities, and the planet.
Some of our work in AI and data is below.
- Dr Hamed Haddadi investigates how smart speakers like the Amazon Echo, Apple HomePod and Google Home might respect (or not respect) your privacy. See "When speakers are all ears".
- Dr. Hamed Haddadi is involved in building a privacy-preserving platform for the BBC.
- Professor Rafael Calvo, through Digital Catapult, is advising AI start-ups around the UK on how to design responsible AI platforms and is co-lead of the Imperial spoke of the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence.
- Professor Rafael Calvo is collaborating with the Centre for Care Research and Technology to design AI technologies to help people with dementia and their carers.
These are juse a few examples. All of our research groups are actively engaged in research on Artificial Intelligence and Data.
