Creativity, Innovation and Enterprise
Addressing the global economic, social and environmental challenges requires deploying innovation and creativity at all levels of the society to ensure effective solutions to systemic problems .
The Innovation, Creativity and Enterprise research theme seeks to understand the structure and impact of creativity and innovation processes across different disciplines, organisations and sectors in order to design effective solutions to tackle complex problems.
We are developing innovation methodologies, theories and creative tools to address problems such as environmental pollution and design of circular business models, as well as insights into creative processes such as collaborative design, design futures and creative leadership routines supporting continuous innovation. We work closely with design focused enterprises across the manufacturing, creative and environmental sectors.
B-Link
B-Link is a data-driven creativity engine, it supports user to explore knowledge and discover creativity. It is presented as a platform with well-designed interface and cutting-edge visualization technology, and driven by our advanced data mining algorithm. In the platform of B-Link, users are able to freely explore words and phrases within their knowledge, and results are shown in the forms of list and network. Benefiting from advanced network visualization technology, user is able to interact with the results shown in network, and discover knowledge associations and domains by operating in the functional panel. Currently, thanks to the data base which was built up by collecting key information from academic publication articles in Elsevier’s datasets, our engine has been able to discover associated words or phrases (could be academically) and paths between two words/phrases, and been able to classify network data into different clusters as well.
B-Link was developed by Feng Shi and Liuqing (Kevin) Chen, both of whom are Professor Peter Childs’s PhD students at Dyson School of Design Engineering, Imperial College London. The first version of B-Link was completed by the end of October 2016, and was well designed to be completely compatible with all kinds of devices such as notebook, tablet and mobile.
B-Link, linking your brain knowledge within just a blink!
