Application process

For Daphne Jackson Fellowship, Newton International Fellowship, Royal Commission 1851 Fellowship

The Department will conduct a shortlisting process and review applications three times a year: March, June and November.

Expression of interest deadlines: March review panel (15 March); June panel (15 June); November review panel (15 November).

Please submit the following materials in one PDF document via e-mail to chemeng-researchfellowships@imperial.ac.uk:

  • A cover letter (1 page max), including the following four details:
    1.Which scheme(s) you are interested in applying to
    2.Why the Department of Chemical Engineering is the best host for your project
    3.Name of potential host in our department and written confirmation from them (a confirmation email or letter is acceptable): You must have contacted your potential host prior to submitting the Expression of Interest and they must have agreed to your application being submitted to the Department.

    .Names and e-mails of two academic references who we may contact upon shortlisting

  • A research plan (1 page max)

  • A full-length CV (including a full publication list, no page limit)

Candidates should follow the centralised process as advertised on the Imperial website.

For MSCA postdoctoral fellowship and SNSF Postdoc Mobility Fellowship

Candidates should contact the potential academic host and agree on mutual expectations and project scope.

Following that, candidates should prepare their applications, including the costing. The pre-award team requests that the costing checklist is submitted at least 10 working days prior to the scheme deadline. More details about the costing preparation can be found on the dedicated page.
