Global Summer School is structured in two parts. Week one begins with academic sessions focussed on your chosen subject and then in week two all students will work in groups to participate in an innovation challenge. All groups will be made up of students from each academic subject, this is so they can share expertise from their subject area.

Throughout the two-week programme, you will be taught by Imperial academics, across more than 50 hours of class time. Lessons are delivered in a variety of formats including lectures, seminars and practical sessions, enabling you to gain valuable insight into what it might be like to study your subject at degree level.

Week one: Academic programme

In week one, with the choice of four subjects — Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Medicine and Life Sciences or Physics  — you will increase your specialist subject knowledge, gain valuable skills and work with other outstanding students from around the world.

Week two: Innovation Challenge

In week two of the programme, all students will come together in groups to share expertise and to help solve a real-world challenge.

The Innovation Challenge is led by the Imperial Enterprise Lab, a group of industry experts, and is a chance for you to develop vital skills you will need at university such as presentation, communication and group work.
