As the first medical college in Pondicherry, AVMC offers courses in medical and surgical specialities alongside providing patient care, diagnostic,  and pharmaceutical services. With over a third of the campus covered in greenery and environmental initiatives such as rainwater harvesting and becoming 'plastic-free', Aarupadai Veedu Medical College & Hospital strives to be a sustainable university.

 

Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi

IIT (BHU) is located in Varanasi, India and offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in science, engineering and humanistic studies.  Formed in 1919, the university was previously known as the Banaras Engineering College (BENCO), the College of Mining and Metallurgy (MINMET) and the College of Technology (TECHNO) before it became the Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in 2012. It remains one of India's oldest engineering universities.

Its main institutional objectives are as follows:

  • To produce highly motivated and confident graduates for serving the nation and humanity.
  • Continuous engagement of Industry, Professionals, R&D establishments, Alumni and the Society.

Indira Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute (IGMCRI)

Located in the centre of Puducherry, the Indira Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute campus is home to a five-story hospital and a range of teaching facilities. Their vision statement is as follows:

  1. To provide necessary Medical and paramedical education courses in the union territory of Puducherry so as to ensure the availability and accessibility of health care services.
  2. To provide high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate medical and paramedical education courses so as to ensure quality health care.
  3. To provide a forum for research and development in all branches of medical and paramedical education.
  4. To provide a higher order of training for the medical, paramedical and other health workers in the union territory of Puducherry

Pondicherry University was founded in 1985, with the main campus facing the Bay of Bengal and spanning over 800 acres.  It is home to 52 departments, with an emphasis on science and engineering.
