The Great Exhibition Road Festival is perfect for families with plenty of hands-on exhibits to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, medics and innovators. You can filter the full programme to find the most suitable activities for your family, or why not take a look at our top picks below? Our highlights take place on both Saturday and Sunday and are drop-in unless specified otherwise.

Don't forget, if you register for Alumni Weekend, you'll also get access to the Alumni Lounge. Enjoy free refreshments all day, and perhaps most importantly, a space away from the crowds where you and your family can take a moment to relax together. An Alumni Lounge pass is free for children 16 and under.

Family Fun zone: Relaxed session (Sunday, 11.00 - 12.00)

Families who need a quieter, calmer environment can book to explore the Family Fun zone with fewer crowds. Try some experiments, play, make, meet scientists and enjoy a story. This bookable relaxed session is for families with members who are neurodiverse (for example, people with autism spectrum conditions or sensory processing difficulties) who need a quieter, less busy environment with fewer crowds to explore the Family Fun zone.
