Overview
In this workshop, we will explore how to work in ways that enable people to do their best independent thinking, individually and in groups. This is based on Nancy Kline's work over many decades, as published in her books 'Time to Think' and 'More Time to Think'.
In particular, we will practise and discuss the ten components of a Thinking Environment and how they prompt and support excellent thinking.
By the end of the session, participants will:
- Explain the ten components of a Thinking Environment and how they support independent thinking.
- Use the components in one-to-one conversations to help individuals think in-depth and resolve complex issues.
- Use the components in group environments to elicit the best thinking of all present.
