Overview

Men's mental health is often overlooked or misunderstood in everyday life and even sometimes by mental health professionals. This webinar will:

  • Look at some key points to help understand and help with men's mental health problems in everyday situations.
  • Describe some of the most common factors that are known to trigger men's mental health problems.
  • Identify some of the signs of mental health issues in men, which may go unnoticed or unrecognised.
  • Explore ways to approach a man you think might need help and discuss the kinds of help and support men might feel comfortable with, including professional therapy and other sources of support, such as Men's Sheds, peer-support groups, and self-help.

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Identify the leading causes of men's mental health problems.
  • Be better able to recognise when a man is experiencing a mental health issue, enabling early intervention and support.
